Last year, Ola Jones (Team Captain of "Cure It for Cathy") shared with us the reason why she walks in the LowcountryWalk to Defeat ALS:
I started my team Cure it for Cathy in honor of my aunt, Cathy Mason. It has been almost 3 years since she was diagnosed with ALS. She has always been the type of person to go above and beyond for everyone in her life and often known to place the needs of others above her own. She has faced this disease with strength and dignity and continues to let her spirit shine through. She inspires me and all of her family and friends with her undeniable spirit, faith, and sense of humor. My goal with our team is to bring everyone who loves Cathy together to show our support for her and to raise awareness for a disease that is all too often overlooked.
